Cara baca: bagi Kolesterol Total, LDL & Trigliserida — lebih rendah lebih baik. HDL ialah pengecualian — ia kolesterol "baik", jadi lebih tinggi lebih baik (sebab itu lajurnya seakan terbalik). Sasaran LDL lebih ketat (di bawah 1.8) jika anda diabetik atau berisiko tinggi penyakit jantung.
How to read it: for Total Cholesterol, LDL & Triglycerides — lower is better. HDL is the exception — it's the "good" cholesterol, so higher is better (which is why its row looks reversed). The LDL target is stricter (below 1.8) if you're diabetic or at high cardiovascular risk.

How to Lower Cholesterol — First Steps
Berita baik: LDL boleh diturunkan dengan ketara melalui perubahan gaya hidup — kurangkan lemak tepu & lemak trans (makanan goreng, santan pekat, kuih berlemak), tambah serat (oat, sayur, buah, kekacang), bersenam 150 minit seminggu, turunkan berat badan, dan berhenti merokok (rokok menurunkan HDL "baik"). Jika risiko anda tinggi atau LDL kekal tinggi, doktor mungkin mencadangkan ubat seperti statin — jangan berhenti sendiri tanpa nasihat doktor.
Good news: LDL can be lowered significantly through lifestyle — cut saturated & trans fats (fried food, thick coconut milk, rich pastries), add fibre (oats, vegetables, fruit, legumes), exercise 150 minutes a week, lose weight, and stop smoking (smoking lowers your "good" HDL). If your risk is high or LDL stays high, your doctor may suggest medication such as a statin — don't stop it on your own without advice.
