Hampir setiap pesakit wad menerima terapi intravena — cecair, antibiotik, ubat kecemasan. Namun laluan IV yang diurus dengan lemah membuka pintu kepada flebitis, infiltrasi, ekstravasasi dan jangkitan aliran darah berkaitan kateter — komplikasi yang memanjangkan penginapan, menambah kos rawatan dan boleh membahayakan pesakit.

Nearly every ward patient receives IV therapy — fluids, antibiotics, emergency drugs. Yet poorly managed IV lines open the door to phlebitis, infiltration, extravasation and catheter-related bloodstream infection — complications that extend stays, raise costs and endanger patients.
The good news: most are preventable through evidence-based practice — correct device selection, appropriate sites, consistent aseptic technique and scheduled monitoring. That is precisely the focus of the Safe Infusion Therapy Excellence (S.I.T.E) workshop.
Hari 1 menggabungkan sesi konsep (pengenalan terapi infusi & konsep utama), kebersihan tangan & penjagaan PIVC, tinjauan komplikasi, demonstrasi sistem infusi automatik, kajian kes & pembentangan kumpulan (flebitis/tromboflebitis, jangkitan, infiltrasi, ekstravasasi) dan sesi psikomotor hands-on — penjagaan dressing, pengurusan flush, konektor tanpa jarum & tiub.
Hari 2 ialah penilaian OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) — stesen praktikal dinilai secara objektif, diikuti maklum balas, penyampaian sijil & sesi bergambar. Fasilitator termasuk Clinical Application Specialist berpengalaman 31 tahun (B.Braun) bersama Infection Control Officer & Infection Control Nurse An-Nur.
Peserta menerima sijil penyertaan dengan 10 mata CPD.
Day 1 combines concept sessions (infusion therapy introduction & key concepts), hand hygiene & PIVC care, complications overview, an automated infusion system demonstration, case studies & group presentations (phlebitis, infection, infiltration, extravasation) and hands-on psychomotor skills — dressing care, flush, needleless connectors & tubing.
Day 2 is the OSCE assessment — objectively scored practical stations, then feedback, certificates & photos. Facilitators include a 31-year Clinical Application Specialist (B.Braun) with An-Nur’s Infection Control Officer & Nurse. Participants earn a certificate with 10 CPD points.
